Dominiquin (1581-1641) Domenico Zampieri
Italian painter.

Suzanne in the bath.

The chapter tells the story of a young woman, Suzanne, who, observed while taking her bath, refuses the dishonest proposals of two old men. To take revenge, they then accuse her of adultery and have her condemned to death, but the prophet Daniel, still a teenager, intervenes and proves her innocence. He has the old men condemned.
This account probably comes from the Septuagint, Latin: Septuaginta) is a translation of the Heratic Bible in Koine Greek. The Septuagint is the Greek translation of the Old Testament (or Hebrew Scriptures). In the Septuagint Suzanne constitutes a separate book from the Book of Daniel. It was probably originally written in Greek. The account constitutes the 13th chapter of the Book of Daniel in the Vulgate (De liberatione castae Susannae) literally From the liberation of the chaste Susanna.
