A BLUE & WHITE PORCELAIN BALUSTER-SHAPED POTICHE
South China, 19th century
The shoulder is applied with handles forming mythical beasts. The vase is adorned with a decoration in cobalt blue depicting, encircling the foot, a frieze of stylized cicadas, on the body, foliage and lotus flower scrolls, encircling the shoulder, a frieze of foliage, encircling the neck, prunus flowers.
Good overall condition, the original porcelain cover is missing (wooden cover added later).
South China, end of the Qing dynasty.
H. 38 x D. 28 cm (excluding cover).
