Orientalist Bust Signed Lévêque, Goldscheider Manufacture
Signed Lévêque and produced by the Goldscheider manufacture, elegant representation of a young African woman wearing a traditional headdress. Terracotta in very good condition which has retained its original colors. Presence of origin stamps and numbering. Slight normal wear and minor alterations (possible restoration on a corner of the base at the back). The sculptor Auguste Lévêque (1864/1921) was born in Nivelles in Belgium, member of the Society of French Artists, his works are exhibited at the Salon and obtained numerous mentions including a Medal of Honor in 1902.
