Very beautiful lectern on stand, upper part made up of an eagle with outstretched wings. A snake at his feet in an attack position, his wrought iron dart in the shape of an arrow, a symbol of evil. Pivoting around an axis, on a very strong and stable fixed foot. At the back of the wings, two supports for books, also in oak. Superbly sculpted and in very good condition. Period early 18th century. Origin: Normandy. Dimension of the eagle: H 95 x W67 x D 70 cm Dimension on the ground: 98 x 98 cm.
