"Interior of the Basilica of San Marco in Venice" by Raffaele Tafuri (Salerno 1857 - Venice 1929). Work composed of three central oil paintings representing the interior of the Basilica of San Marco; the upper part and the lower part of the work, on the other hand, consist of 6 oil plates in the predella style where the upper vaults of the basilica and religious scenes are represented. Signed "R: Tafuri" on all central canvases. Provenance: private collection, Barcelona. Exhibitions: International Exhibition of Venice 1914, a work also cited on Comanducci as "San Marco"; Panama-Pacific International Exhibition 1915.
