« Chasse Au Canard » De Pierre-jules Mêne (1810-1879)
A brown patina bronze sculpture byPierre-Jules Mêne (1810-1879)entitled "Duck Hunt", depicting two spaniel-griffon dogs chasing a duck trapped in a copse. The duck is still on the ground but tries to escape by making a flight attempt. Period cast from the Mêne workshop, signed lower left. The period print is not abundant and this subject is one of the six main submissions of P.J. Mêne to the 1850 Salon.
