Superb work signed U. Cipriani on the front left. H 49, black marble base 17 x 59 cm. Son of a Florentine sculptor Ugo Cipriani, 1987 - 1960, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and joined the Art Deco movement of the 20s and 30s. He fled fascism and took refuge in France in 1935. He worked magnificently with bronze, marble, alabaster, terracotta and chryselephantines.
