Louis XVI Style Showcase Bookcase, Painted Wood
Louis XVI style showcase bookcase, early nineteenth (or even late eighteenth) painted wood and delicately molded. The fluted flat uprights are surmounted by triglyphs and rest on four legs turned into a sheath. It opens on the front by two glass doors and is locked. The keyholes are made of brass. The interior is fitted with three shelves and painted in Swedish "gray blue" giving it a Gustavian look. Elegant in size, ornamentation and patina.
