Biography: Prosper d'Epinay (1836-1914), caricaturist, sculptor depicting sovereigns, nobles, and celebrities of his time in Europe and Russia. D'Epinay “gave them more physical resemblance, moral description. They are all a je ne sais quoi in the look, in the port, in a simple fold of the lip that betrays their birth ”. Related Work: A similar bust of the Prince Imperial is kept in the museum of the Château de Compiègne. At the Second Empire museum. Prosper d'Epinay produced a work paying homage to the Imperial Prince representing dying and taken in by the angel Gabriel.
