From the Château de Fontainebleau.
The set consists of 3 Palace bérgères and 2 chairs, in polychromed wood, the front legs are in the shape of a sword sheath with pelta hoof, cylindrical armrests, posterior saber legs, flat top, convex front.
Period Empire.
FON fire marks with the arms of France (three crowned fleur-de-lis) from the Restoration period, numerous stenciled inventory numbers on each piece preceded by the letter F for Fontainebleau, several handwritten labels with the mention "Salon".
Very good condition, strapping and padding redone and covered in white, with removable cushions for the armchairs.
Bergères: H. 99 and 96 x W. 68 x D. 58 cm. Chairs: H. 92 x L. 48 x D. 42 cm.
Provenance
- Fontainebleau castle.
- Private collection.
Note
The bergeres measurements being larger than usual, this suggests a fairly important location in the castle, probably not just for the ministries.
P.S .: I will not separate the proposed set except for a single bergere in order to leave a set of 2 bergères and 2 chairs.
