History
The "service des Princes" was used in all the Royal residences under the July Monarchy, only Compiègne had a different decor for this service. It was intended for semi-official meals, intimate meals of the Royal Family and visits of the princes, sons and daughters of the royal couple, in the various residences.
Note that at the Château de Dreux, this service was the one used by King Louis-Philippe himself from 1847, since the project to provide this residence with a service with painted decoration from 1845 was abandoned for economy reasons. (Archives of Cité de la Céramique, Sèvres, U2 L1 D2).
