Pair of Art Deco period bookends (circa 1930) representing a couple of Japanese mandarins in traditional clothes. Polychrome patinated spelter. They are signed "Géo Maxim" at the base of the Kimono. The plinths are in gray veined marmoreal brown and white marble and are in perfect condition. The man is holding a lantern courting a woman who is playing with her fan. Slight wear at some ends visible in the photos. Very good general condition.
