Miniature portrait of a young woman, painted in gouache on ivory at the end of the 18th century. Is represented Madame Simonne Victoire ASSY, who died in 1849 in her 76th year Widow of Monsieur Jean-Baptiste -ALLE, former manufacturer, as indicated on the back She is represented in her youth, wearing a light dress in muslin and white-gray lace, gathered at the level of the chest, the throat modestly covered with draped fluids. Her youthful, fair-skinned face displays a shy smile, her large brown eyes with a frank gaze that is expressive; the mid-length hairstyle with abundant curls is held back by a blue velvet headband and frames her beautiful face beautifully. The painter was able to render the delicacy of his features and also lets us glimpse the softness coupled with determination of this young person. Miniature diameter only: 7cm With its blackened wooden frame: 10cm. Good condition.
