The decoration of the cover is that of the rank of "Grand Ecossais", 2 nd Order of the French rite or 14 degree of Reaa.
Usually a few reminders of this rank are taken up with the other degrees whereas here the decoration is essentially devoted to this rank.
The interior is covered with tortoiseshell (slight alteration)
