Entirely hand-knotted, 100 % natural silk, vegetable dyes, size: 1.50mX0.98m. Ghoum Carpet is a type of carpet produced in Iran in the Ghoum region. The first trades appeared in 1930, at the initiative of merchants from Keshan. Despite their recent manufacture, they have established themselves by the perfection of their technique and the variety of their designs. The classic motifs are the boteh, gardens and zil-e sultan. We also find the flowers on a plain background characteristic of Isfahan rugs and the central medallion of Keshan rugs. The Ghoum carpet has a very colorful appearance, the white and ivory background highlighting the multicolored patterns.
