Entirely knotted by hand, pure wool, vegetable dyes, size: 1.30mx0.80m. The name "Turkmen carpets" refers to rugs produced in various regions, including Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, East Turkestan, Afghanistan and Balochistan. Turkmen carpets include the bashir, salor, tekke, tjaudor and yomut rugs, among others, all of which are examples of rugs that were called, until a few decades ago, bukhara rugs. What distinguishes Turkmen carpets is, among other things, that their warp is almost always made of wool, that their “göl” -type patterns are repetitive, and that they often have wide borders on the widths that are available. not found on the lengths. Red, playing across the entire palette from purple to brown, is a dominant color. Tekke-Bochara, Ersar, Tschoval, Beshir and Jolam-Bocharaband are all examples of Turkmen carpets.
