Inkwell in regulates with green bronze patina signed Legage.
It represents a helmeted soldier on his horse.
The latter is rearing up on a rounded base adorned with foliage on its perimeter and a shell on the front.
Glass inkwells have an octagonal shape with a smaller cylindrical foot allowing them to be anchored in their housings.
Their spelter lids are decorated with an open flower.
Note two accidents, one at the back of the base, and another on the barrier behind the horse (see photos).
French work late nineteenth, early twentieth.
