"Maurice Dufrène, Sideboard Furniture - Early 20th Century, Art Deco"
Maurice Dufrène (1876 - 1955) Artistic director of La Maitrise Rare and exceptional mahogany support cabinet for La Maitrise. It has six drawers with ivory pull handles, three solid doors and two glass doors with an intermediate shelf on the front. Base and top in Lunel stone. Interior in sycamore (maple). Very good state. The only known copy, this piece of furniture was part of the Modern Applied Art exhibition organized in New York by the house RH Macy and C °, in 1927 It still bears the transport labels for New York, the destination and the label mentioning departure from France, the French customs stamp, exhibition service “Art Exhibit from Dufrêne” Style 1284, as well as the label: Commercial Sample Imported for RH Macy & Co, inc from Dufrène.
