1930 Art Deco Box Crystal & Macassar
Pretty box from the Art Deco period (circa 1930) in Macassar ebony with dark brown veins on a lighter red background. The crystal cut with circles in squares is signed "Czechoslovakia". The box is made by the house "Prodon" in Paris Gold Medal in 1929 (label under the box). The crystal is in perfect condition as well as the nickel-plated metal parts. In places, the wood has played over the years (very slightly curved cover). The varnish has been redone and is therefore in good condition. It is a very beautiful decorative object representative of the pure and powerful lines of the Art Deco style which is both present and airy.
