Empire Style Middle Table After The Model Of Jacob Desmalter End XIX I
Middle table after the model of Jacob Desmalter (1770-1841) and period late nineteenth - early twentieth. It is all sides in mahogany veneer and richly decorated with gilded bronzes. The uprights are 4 caryatids in gilded bronzes, its crossbars decorated with laurel leaves, rosettes and palmettes. The base is spacer surmounted by an antique vase framed by 2 winged sphinxes. The similar model decorated Caroline de Murat's room at the Elysee Palace in 1803. Preserved today in Versailles (Grand Trianon) Sea green marble with a restored throat.
