REPUBLICAN GUARD TRUMPET HELMET ON HORSEBACK.Helmet entirely in nickel-plated steel. It consists of a bomb, a visor and a neck cover both encircled with a brass ring folded astride the outer border, a band, two chin straps, a crest, a red horsehair mane about 95 cm long, and a plume holder. All fittings are brass. Headband in brass embossed with two laurel branches tied together. In the center, above the branches, are represented the arms of the City of Paris reduced in order to overcome the legion, attributed to the city on October 9, 1900. Leather inner cap cut into 8 wolf teeth. Very good general condition, worn headdress. France circa 1920/30. A note: The visor lined with a green waxed morocco, the neck cover with a dark brown waxed morocco we were changed.
