Joseph Beaume, was born in Marseille in 1796 and died in Paris in 1885. He trained at the school of Gros, and began at the Salon of 1819. He established his notoriety in genre painting and history, sometimes performing scenes familiar to individuals, sometimes battles for the state as well as religious subjects for churches.
