Painter from Péronne, Francis Tattegrain began his career in Berck sur encouragement from Ludovic-Napoléon Lepic. He continued in Paris where he was a student of Jules Lefebvre and Gustave Boulanger. He entered the Julian Academy in 1877. His talent earned him many commissions on subjects of history painting, portraits, but Tattegrain is above all a master of naturalism in the marine field. This table is an illustration of this. It deserves a cleaning in order to fully restore the light and the harmonious colors that Tattegrain gives us to see on its seascapes.
