Portrait of Napoleon 1st, drawing in lead pencil enhanced with gouache. Signed below in the margin along the drawing, Bordes fecit aux cent jours. Charles-Joseph Bordes (Toulouse 1779- after 1845) miniature painter and lithographer, pupil of Jean-Baptiste Isabey. Ring frame and easel, with oval view, in gilded bronze of very good quality, decorated at the 4 corners with a large palm and leafy scrolls on an amati background. The tour with the same decor to which pine cones are added. Very good condition, a thin strip of wetting at the bottom. Frame dimension: 14.5 x 13.5 cm Drawing dimension: 10 x 8 cm
