César Álvarez Dumont (1866-1945) Pintor Español Dimensions: 32 x51cm Signed Very good condition César Álvarez Dumont (1866-1945) was a Spanish figure in history who cultivated cultures, religious themes, decorative paintings and illustrations . Brother of the painter Eugenio Álvarez Dumont. 1 la época. A pupil of the School of Fine Arts in Malaga, he then trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando in Madrid. The Provincial Council of Malaga awarded him a scholarship in 1895 to continue his studies in Rome. There he replaced Alejo Vera as director of the Spanish School of Fine Arts. In 1897, he established his residence in Paris and in 1898, he went to North Africa with his brother Eugène. Back in Spain, he made the paintings in the session hall of the Municipal Palace of Malaga and collaborated as a designer and illustrator in publications of the time. He was director of the schools of fine arts of Seville, Cadiz and Malaga.
