Contemporary ring set with an intaglio on quartz mounted on its mount representing a mythological scene.
Main material: pink gold, 750 thousandths, 18 carats, eagle head hallmark.

The history of this jewel: This intaglio represents Saint Jerome and the Lion. The story goes that the saint was in prayer when he saw a lion arrive, a ferocious predator. When he saw the animal approaching, Jerome noticed that it was limping and crying. A huge splinter was planted in his paw. He took it away and looked after the animal. It is said that the grateful lion never left Jerome until his death, joining him there soon after. Saint Jerome was canonized and became the patron saint of translators.
