17th Century Messenger Box With Secrets
Superb and rare 17th century message box with secrets and garnished with its original interior engravings. It rests on 4 small turned feet, rectangular in shape, it opens on top with a domed cover containing a flap on the inside on the right side for a small hiding place. The entire interior of the box is lined and decorated with old original colored engravings representing .... The right side of the box lifts to hide 2 small drawers and a larger one at the bottom. The set is decorated with moldings and its original fittings and lock. Box of superb quality and in perfect state of conservation.
