The canvas is original without covering and the chassis alone measures 72cm by 50 - the original frame also measures 90cm by 65 this painting is signed lower right, certainly by Germain Paget, here is a short overview: Germain Paget ( 1817 - 1884] was born and raised in Morbier, in a family of watchmakers.After having followed a first artistic training in Dole, he joined in 1841 the School of Fine Arts in Paris.He made a career in the capital , regularly presenting his works at the Salon, an academic artist, he produces religious paintings, genre scenes and portraits.
