oil on panel signed lower right D. Papety representing Italian smugglers, one playing the flute the other from the bignou. Presented in its original frame gilded with gold leaf. Painter born in Marseille in 1815, died in the same city in 1849. Was the pupil of Léon Cogniet. Ingres held his talent in great esteem. Painter present in many French and foreign museums.
