3 Catalan Carders
Artist: Roger Astruc
In 1946/1947, Roger Astruc took a sabbatical year to return to the country, in this case in Claira, where his parents live; he devoted himself to his art, with a focus on the first Catalan art fair in Paris in 1947, rue de la Boëtie, of which he is one of the organizers. Until the end of the 1940s, he spent extended periods in the Catalan country; it will be a time of intense creation. The subjects are most often borrowed from the ordinary life of this country, the cardeuses, the work of the vine, accentuated with their local typicities.
