"Plate In Earthenware Of Great Fire Moustiers Eighteenth Century"
Beautiful plate in faience of big fire, of octagonal form enlivened, with a green camaïeu decoration of a country scene. In the center, under a tree, a shepherdess sitting at the foot of a sheep listens to the serenade played by a grotesque figure with a violin wearing a large feathered hat and cloak. Above this charming scene a fantastic bird is in pursuit of a butterfly followed by a flying insect. The edge is decorated with large flowering branches and underlined with green and manganese nets. Very nice condition (no restoration) Diameter: 25 cm Moustiers mid 18th century mark of the workshop olérys and Laugier and the painter Giraud
