Signed lower right Jules GENESTE. Born in Libourne in 1826, died in Castillon-la-Bataille in 1889. Specialist in marine painting. We find a touch very removed and sure, some similarity with Boudin two painters in the antipodes of France, Normandy for Boudin and the southwest for Geneste. Our painting may represent a view of a part of the port and quays of Bordeaux: said the Chartrons and Bacalan.
