Pair Of Italian Polychrome Statues XVIII
Superb and rare pair of large polychrome sculptures of Italian prayer characters from the late eighteenth century. Each of the characters have skin and are presented on their knees on a cloud, arms crossed for one, praying for each other. They are dressed in a dawn decorated with arabesques and flowers, a golden belt at the waist and golden hair. Work of great quality and sculpture of great finesse, polychrome and gilding remained in excellent original condition. Rare work in this size and in this state, very decorative and of a great presence.
