Mazarine Commode by Thomas HACHE (1664-1747) Mazarine chest of drawers in rosewood veneer, walnut, stained wood nets and brass. It opens with three rows of domed drawers in "cabochons", framed by a wide brass border that can be found on the bottom rail. They have a tripartite decor, highlighting the reliefs of the facade and gilded bronze ornamentation composed of large handles of falling prints and masks. The drawers are arranged in internal half-walls formed by the sleepers and vertical uprights set in the frame of the dresser. The sides are veneered with walnut, stained wood nets and light wood with spandrels. The platter with rosewood marquetry and brass threads has a geometric decoration compartmentalized with reserves of poly-lobed shapes, circles and rectangles embedded. The set is surrounded by a thick brass border. The cut outs are finished with bronze hooves very finely chiseled and gilded. Central cut-out apron adorned with a mascaron and foliage wrapped in gilded bronze. Work of Thomas Hache in Grenoble.
