Mathurin Méheut: Fair Of The Montbran (cotes d'Armor)

Original work by the hand of Mathurin Méheut. Black bold pencil and heightened red. Monogrammed bottom right. Framed. Méheut describes a fair in the region of Montbran in the 30s with this particular costume in the countryside of Penthièvre. He keeps the picturesque merchants with their flocks of geese and horses with their riders. This drawing was certainly used in the development of the book "Pays de Bretagne" by Florian Roy whose cover is illustrated by a watercolor by Méheut: La Montbran.Côtes-du-Nord.
