Beautiful pair of cane chairs in beech wood molded, carved and waxed with elegant lines and nerve. Flat backrest with violin queen with double shoulders, wide and curvy seat, armrests voluble, flared and scalloped, nerve consoles in lash withdrawal gallant belt all in game of curves and against plunging curves, scalloped and molded resting a curved base punctuated with acanthus leaf. Beautiful harmony of fine and generous moldings with well marked sinuosities of large gorges summoned by small flowers carved with rosebuds and peonies at the top of the backs as well as in the center of the crossbelt; falls of foliage and florets to the fonts of the anterior ones as well as to the shoulders of the file. Large backrest and deep hospital seat give this pair of chairs a nice balance between grace charm and comfort. It should be noted the great care given to the connecting elements of an irreproachable quality. Balance, nervousness and elegance are the most appropriate terms for this beautiful pair of cane seats with a very good quality. Work Lyonnais attributed to Pierre Nogaret Louis XV period, mid-eighteenth century around 1750. Pierre NOGARET (1718-1771), received Master carpenter in Lyon in June 1745. A seat born from the hand of the most famous cabinetmakers Lyon builders recognizes with one look. All of them, subtle game all curves and counter-curves, twining armrests not to mention consoles whiplash or boldness of moldings enhanced with a subtle sculptural work conjugated to the facts attested that Nogaret signed only one or two seats in a set attest to his paternity. All of these criteria are present on the pair of chairs we offer; attesting to this fact of their attributions certain to this great master lyonnais. A similar pair stamped by Pierre Nogaret appears in the Museum of Decorative Arts in Lyon. Remarks: Beautiful state of conservation, woodwork without grafts or splices, frameworks of rackets of cane of origins. Only the caning of the seats was redone.
