Flat-topped Oak Desk In The Louis XVI–directoire Style

A flat-topped Louis XVI-style desk made of solid oak and oak veneer, fully restored by a workshop. The rectangular top, framed by a double border of oak veneer with pronounced grain, features a rounded, molded profile along the edges. The base features three drawers with metal ring pulls, equipped with three keys that were remade in the workshop; the dovetail joints on the drawers attest to meticulous cabinetmaking. The tapered, slightly curved legs—characteristic of the Louis XVI style—are topped with corner blocks shaped like carved consoles. The overall finish is uniform, a honey-gold hue, with no apparent flaws.

The height below the cornice is 64 cm.

The piece is entirely original in structure and has been restored to its overall condition; the locks and keys are functional.
