Lalique For Roger & Gallet - Bottle, Le Jade
Molded blown glass bottle titled "Le Jade," created by
LALIQUE for Roger et Gallet in 1926. This bottle is in perfect condition.
*** Between the late 19th century and the early 20th century, many artists drew inspiration from the East. This was also true of René Lalique, both in his jewelry and in his glasswork.
The "Le Jade" perfume bottle, which he created for Roger & Gallet in 1926, reflects this inspiration. It depicts a bird with outstretched wings, flying through a maze of branches. The bottle reveals the name of the perfume on one side and the brand name on the other.
The shade of the glass is designed to mimic jade, creating a connection between the name of the contents and the appearance of the container. This bottle comes in a wide range of shades, from an almost fluorescent green to turquoise. The design is reminiscent of Chinese snuff boxes.
