Mid-century Side Table By Ganddal Møbelfabrikk
Mid-century side table by Ganddal Møbelfabrikk
Table with a square top made of Brazilian rosewood
Minimalist, architectural trestle-style frame featuring straight, cylindrical legs that taper subtly toward the floor, giving the piece a light and airy appearance
Two opposite sides are adorned with deep skirts of figured wood. The other two sides feature low, sturdy horizontal crossbars connecting the pairs of legs, which ensures structural stability while maintaining an open and airy profile
The legs are flush-joined directly to the upper frame using integrated mortise-and-tenon joints, creating a harmonious and organic transition between the vertical legs and the horizontal support beams.
Bears the “Made in Norway” stamp, as well as the Ganddal Møbelfabrikk logo and serial number 004466.
59.5 cm wide and deep, 51 cm high.
Based in Ganddal (a neighborhood of Sandnes, Norway), Ganddal Møbelfabrikk was renowned in the 1960s for crafting high-end architectural furniture with clean lines, primarily using exceptionally rich Brazilian rosewood and teak, assembled in a “book-matched” pattern.
In good vintage condition, with only a few small surface scratches on the tabletop (see close-up photos on www.vintitch.com).
Norwegian design from the 1960s.
