A fine Neo-Russian style silver-gilt and enamel cigarette case by Gustav Klingert, made in Moscow in 1888.
Of square form with rounded corners, the case is beautifully decorated with enamel in shades of red, white, and blue, arranged in an intricate honeycomb pattern. It features a silver push-button clasp.
The interior and flange are struck with the maker’s initials, additional import marks, and the Russian 84 silver standard hallmark.
