English Partners Desk – Second Half Of The 19th Century
Elegant English double-sided desk, “Partners Desk” model, crafted in the second half of the 19th century from walnut.
The rectangular top, large and spacious, features a molded frame along the perimeter and a surface marked by thin decorative fillets. The under-top panel is embellished with three drawers on the front, each with molded frames and circular metal knobs, while the structure is presumably arranged as a double-sided desk, a distinctive feature of partners desks, designed to be used by two people seated facing each other.
The desk rests on four curved and slightly shaped legs, joined by an elegant turned central crossbar.
