19th-century English chest of drawers, crafted from burl walnut veneer. It features a classic, symmetrical design, with three small drawers in the upper section and three large drawers below.
The drawer fronts are adorned with a magnificent burr walnut veneer. The drawers are framed by black and gilded moldings, as well as brass handles featuring gracefully shaped back plates.
On the back is a metal plaque from Waring & Gillow (Paris) Ltd., listing its branches in Paris, Madrid, and Brussels. Waring & Gillow was a renowned British furniture manufacturer and interior designer, formed from the merger of two major English companies in the industry. The chest of drawers also bears the company’s mark on one of its drawers.
The piece is in very good condition.
