17th-century Polychrome-painted Metal Fruit Bowl Set With Columns

Painted metal chest (mounted on a wooden core) with polychrome decoration featuring floral fruit bowls, columns, and various architectural elements. Origin: most likely Russia. It has retained its original wrought-iron lock. Dates from the 17th century.

This chest is in good overall condition and retains its original finish. It shows some signs of age—marks of authenticity—which in no way detract from its decorative quality.

Please note: damage and missing pieces in some areas, a few cracks in the wood, wear on the polychrome finish, and signs of age; please examine the photos carefully.
