A striking pair of vintage earrings by Roy Cecil King (RCK), finely crafted in 18-karat yellow gold and set with hand-carved natural salmon-pink coral.

Roy Cecil King was a notable British jewellery designer and goldsmith, recognised for his distinctive and highly individual jewellery designs. These earrings bear his RCK maker’s mark, adding considerably to their desirability and collectability.

Each earring measures approximately 22mm by 16mm and features a beautifully carved coral section designed in an asymmetrical wing or scalloped-shell form. The coral is sculpted with five pronounced fluted ridges, producing an elegant three-dimensional and architectural appearance.

The warm salmon-pink coral is secured within a fitted polished 18K yellow gold bezel and backing, creating an attractive contrast between the natural organic material and the rich yellow gold.

The pair has a substantial combined gross weight of approximately 13.9 grams and is fitted with hinged omega clip-back mechanisms, allowing the earrings to be worn without pierced ears.

The reverse is stamped 750 / 18K. One of the gold backing plates additionally bears the RCK maker’s mark for Roy Cecil King, together with formal assay markings including a 750 fineness mark within a scales cartouche and additional assay symbols.
