Wine-making Art, 19th-century Bronze Faucet
A beautiful solid-cast bronze faucet consisting of two precisely fitted parts, featuring a whimsical spout; the handle, with its ergonomic grip, has a conical fit.
The entire assembly was driven into the wood of the cask or barrel with a mallet, hence the curved bumper at the animal’s snout.
It has been in use and shows signs of wear, but, being indestructible, it still works and has a beautiful patina.
22 x 15 x 11 cm
In fairly good condition, but with surface wear; beautiful dark patina.
