Italian Terracotta Sculpture Garden
A pair of highly decorative 19th-century Italian terracotta sculptures depicting cherubs; each is mounted on its own pedestal, forming an elegant and harmonious sculptural ensemble.
Beautifully modeled in terracotta, these charming angelic figures reflect the rich tradition of Italian decorative sculpture as well as the enduring influence of the Baroque and Rococo periods.
These cherubs—traditionally known as *putti* in Italian art—embody the grace, innocence, and expressiveness characteristic of classical European sculpture. Their sculptural forms and timeless subject matter evoke the decorative traditions of Italian palaces, aristocratic mansions, and ecclesiastical interiors.
Each cherub stands 55 cm tall, making them decorative pieces of impressive scale.
Displayed on their individual pedestals, the set reaches an impressive total height of 115 cm, giving the pair a distinguished architectural presence.
The pedestals highlight the sculptures’ proportions, allowing them to be arranged in elegant symmetry.
The natural warmth and texture of the terracotta enhance their antique and authentic character, while their classical subject matter makes them particularly versatile decorative pieces.
These sculptures would look stunning flanking a grand entrance, a fireplace, a staircase, or a doorway, or displayed in a classic living room, a sunroom, or a winter garden.
A magnificent pair of antique Italian terracotta cherubs, combining 19th-century craftsmanship, classical elegance, and great decorative appeal.
