Carved Chinese Wooden Screen – Prominent Dragon Motifs – 19th Century

Spectacular carved Chinese wooden screen, composed of several hinged panels and entirely carved in high relief.

The central section features a particularly rich design dedicated to the dragon, an iconic figure in Chinese art.

Several dragons wind their way through motifs of clouds, plants, and stylized symbols.

The large central panel is dominated by an impressive dragon’s head, while the side panels are adorned with large, sinuous dragons carved in relief.

The upper section, largely openwork, is crowned by facing dragons with intertwined bodies, arranged around a central medallion.

The ensemble is complemented by carved friezes and numerous geometric and symbolic motifs.

The carving is particularly elaborate, with beautiful effects of depth and a dark brown patina that highlights the reliefs.

This folding screen is a truly spectacular decorative piece, ideal for a distinctive interior, an Asian art collection, or as a decorative architectural element.
