Silver And Vermeil Jam Set, Restoration Period
A superb silver jam dish, resting on a quadrangular pedestal topped with four balls, featuring richly chased and openwork decoration depicting two classical scenes.
The body is topped by an elegant domed lid, crowned with a swan with outstretched wings, forming a particularly decorative handle. The set features remarkable neoclassical-inspired decoration, characteristic of French silverwork from the first half of the 19th century.
The jam jar is accompanied by twelve vermeil spoons, featuring a design of shells and foliage, perfectly matching the set.
It retains its original glass interior.
Paris hallmarks, 1819–1838, and a large guarantee mark on the set.
Total weight of silver and vermeil: 895 g
Height: 28 cm
A very beautiful set, in good condition.
