Artist: Vincent De Vos (1829-1875)
Vincent de Vos (1829–1875)
Musical Dogs
Oil on wood
Dimensions: 18 x 15 cm, 38 x 35 cm with frame
19th-century-style gilded stucco frame (regilded with bronze).
Condition: good condition, cleaned, varnished with damar resin; I believe the signature has been reapplied, as the original had likely faded slightly. Traces of it are still visible underneath. There is no doubt regarding the painting’s authenticity as a work by Vincent de Vos.
