Large Antique Rectangular Mirror, First Empire Period, 100 X 155 Cm
Large mirror in a First Empire frame,
inspired by Egypt, featuring all the bold
and rich ornamentation of that period: swan’s neck, Egyptian bust, ram’s head,
lyre, rosettes, palmettes, heart-shaped motifs, etc.
Finished in our workshops with a focus on its history,
the passage of time has been respected by preserving
the patina of its original gilding, which I have enhanced
with a wash, itself accented with gold leaf to create a subtle play of light.
Edge in a chocolate-gold tone.
Contemporary glaze.
Can be displayed either way.
